What Makes A Good Canopy?

There are a few key features you should keep in mind before buying your next canopy. Essentially, your canopy should provide you with complete shade anytime and anywhere.

From setup to tear-down, everything should be a breeze. Below are a few pointers you should keep in mind.

1. Make sure that it is pre-assembled. You shouldn’t have to bother with loose attachments that are easy to lose. A lot of modern day canopies come pre-assembled.

2. From unpacking to positioning to opening, the entire process should take approximately 1 minute.

3. Most good quality canopies weigh around 9-11 pounds. Canopies that weigh less than this may be subject to being low quality and heavier canopies are rather cumbersome.

4. Water resistant with seamed and sealed edges.

5. The poles should be made out of rustproof aluminum. Aluminum is not only light, but also rather sturdy.

These are the bare necessities that will help you in choosing the right canopy for you.

We suggest you check out canopies in person before purchasing to see if it is the right fit for you. Much like trying on new shoes, you won’t really know if you’ll like the canopy until you see it in person.
